Week 4 Day 4 – Music App!
Yesterday was fun as hell. We made a music app that allows for the creation, editing, and deleting of various bands, albums and tracks. We then applied what we learned with authentication to create user profile and restrict accessibility of non-user visitors. This was a topic that I was able to pick up fairly well, hence my enjoyment whilst working on the project. It was a solo day too, so it was definitely a headphones on, zone out and code kinda day, which was awesome too. I don’t quite know how to elaborate on what I learned, since I pretty much described everything as well as I could in my previous posts on authentication. I’m just glad I’m learning all that I am, and finally seeing things come together into working applications. It’s an amazing feeling.
On other notes, the practice assessment. It’s incredibly long, sitting at 2 hours with 86 total specs to pass, it’s a monster. I attempted it last night and did better than I thought I would have, but that was only having a full day of building the music app. Before building the music app, I spent half an hour and couldn’t even get passed the first set of specs, but now I’m feeling better. I just need to fine tune my approach, learn to recognize error codes and what they generally mean and I should be good to go. And for the most part, that’s all through practice.
Sorry but today’s gonna be another short day, it’s another study hall day so I really want to work on the practice assessment. Talk to everyone tomorrow!
