Introducing the Graduate Job Seeker Program
I almost forgot to blog today haha. Please expect not as daily blogs now since there won’t be as much content on a day-to-day basis. I’ll still do my best however.
App Academy is experimenting with a new pilot program, coined the “Graduate Job Seeker Program.” This program is a four week program where you’re assigned a day in which your attendance is mandatory. During this day, you’re allotted additional time to practice whiteboarding in mock interview settings.
Another great addition to the program is the option to do another flex project with people from OUTSIDE your own cohort. I think that’s the best part really, being able to interact with people from previous cohorts.
As a hacker, I honestly think this is a great program, and I hope it continues beyond the four weeks because I could really use the extra practice. I really can’t utilize the resources at the present moment given all the responsibilities and obligations I currently have, but for sure if I haven’t found a job by the time the next session starts, I’m on it. In the mean time, I’m still working on my plan of attack. I met with my career coach today and after a couple fixes, I should be ready to start applying, and I’m both dreading and looking forward to it. I’m looking forward to the progression and exciting opportunities that will come my way, but I’m also dreading all the rejections that will be in store. But dreading the rejections doesn’t mean that I won’t go after them, after all, each rejection, is another step closer to an offer and success.
Wish me luck! I’ll talk to you guys tomorrow!
