Week 8 Day 1 – BenchBnB
What’s gooooood guys?! I’m in a good mood today. Today, Tuesday, marks the transition between the curriculum phase of App Academy and the Full-Stack Project phase. That said, today was also the day of the LAST assessment that covers React-Redux, and I aced it! I was hoping I would, given that I was down to 35 minutes on the practice exam that’s meant for two hours. Now the stress of getting dismissed based off assessment scores has passed. Onto the next stress! But enough of today, i’ll go more into today, tomorrow!
Yesterday we focused primarily on finishing up BenchBnB. I don’t recall if I mentioned in the previous post, but BenchBnB is a clone of AirBnB. I’ll be honest, I barely just finished the first part last night. There’s a good reason behind it, I promise. The first is that I spent 4 of the working hours working on the practice assessment. After which, I spent the rest of the time on really trying to understand Front-End authentication, which made up the entirety of part 1 of BenchBnB. I felt that this was most important, since the rest of the project was building up the rest of the app with redux and react, with a touch on using a Google Maps API. Since today’s goal for the full stack project is to complete the user authentication process for back-end and front-end, I felt that it was definitely more productive to really understand each step of the front-end auth process.
That’s pretty much it for today guys! Diving into the full stack project now! Talk to y’all tomorrow!
